Acupuncture
Acupuncture strengthens the immune system by inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points to restore the free flow of Qi (vital life force/energy), to balance the body, and to trigger it's natural healing response. In biomedical terms, acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system, releasing chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. |
Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal therapy may strengthen your body’s resistance to disease. Like acupuncture, herbal medicine aims to restore your body, so that it can protect, regulate and heal itself. Chinese herbs may decrease cold/flu symptoms and pain, increase energy, improve digestion, sleep quality, menopausal symptoms, regulate menstrual cycles, and aid fertility. Under supervision, herbal therapy can be valuable following cancer treatments to aid the body’s recovery from the after-effects of chemotherapy and/or radiation. In some cases, there is evidence that some herbal remedies might prevent or relieve symptoms during cancer treatments. |
Cupping Therapy
Cupping is a therapy widely used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It comprises creating a local suction on the skin using either heat (fire) and glass cups or manually by pressing down the top of medical-grade silicone cups, or mechanically by using a hand held pump with high-grade plastic cups. Cupping reduces pain, inflammation, increases blood flow, decreases blood pressure, aids relaxation, and improves general well-being.
